CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. — A Cabell County Grand Jury has handed down an indictment to a former Barboursville Middle School teacher on sexual abuse charges.
Daniel Miles, of Barboursville, is charged with first degree sexual abuse, sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust to a child.
According to a criminal complaint, Miles allegedly abused multiple students on multiple occasions from August 2019 until January 2022, when he was placed on administrative leave. He’s accused of touching students, messaging them, and buying them gifts.
An arraignment will happen at a late date in Cabell County Circuit Court.
