Flags to display at half-staff Saturday for former Delegate Tom Azinger

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — All flags on state-owned facilities in Wood County and the West Virginia Capitol Complex will be displayed at half-staff Saturday until dusk to honor the life of former West Virginia Delegate, Tom Azinger.

Azinger passed away this week at the age of 89. Azinger served as a West Virginia Delegate for 10 terms (1995-2015), before being brought back on by Governor Jim Justice from 2018-2020.

Azinger, a Parkersburg native, was a United States Marine, and a graduate of Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, and their children, as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
