PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission has announced there will not be a change in venue for the state wrestling championship or state softball tournament in the near future.
Huntington, which has served as host city of the state wrestling championship for 37 consecutive years, will continue to do so through 2028.
Mountain Health Arena is the site of the state wrestling championship, which will be held March 6-8 in 2025.
Additionally, the state softball tournament, which has been played in South Charleston since 2021, will continue to be held at Little Creek Park through 2028.
“The WVSSAC is thrilled to continue our partnership with Huntington and South Charleston for these championships,” said David Price, WVSSAC Executive Director. “Both venues offer excellent facilities and environments that will create memorable experiences for everyone involved in these championships.
“We are grateful for the interest in other cities in hosting these championships and are appreciative of the great time and effort demonstrated in the bid process.”
The 2025 state softball tournament is slated for May 28-31.
