ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — A Charleston man wanted for his connection in a Huntington shooting death was arrested Wednesday in Kanawha County.
Damarquis Dewayne Patterson, 20, of Charleston, was arrested around 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in St. Albans after a warrant was issued for his failure to appear in court in relation to the 2022 shooting death of 40-year-old Christopher Johnson.
The shooting happened on November 30, 2022, in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue. Patterson, along with Malik Hawk, Lawrence Floyd, and Matthew Daughtery were alleged of conspiring to kill Johnson.
Arrest warrants were previously issued on January 27, 2023, and Patterson along with his counterparts were arrested. Patterson posted bond but failed to appear for his court date.
Hawk, Floyd, and Daughtery all entered Kennedy pleas earlier in the month.
Patterson will face first-degree murder charges.
