Trial date is set for Huntington man accused of killing daughter

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.— A trial date, in the case of a Huntington man accused of killing his 3-month-old daughter, has been set.

Shannon Patrick Overstreet has been charged with murder, child abuse and concealment in relation to the 2021 disappearance of his daughter Angel.

The trial is set for March 18, 2025, and pre-trial motions have been scheduled to begin on January 21.

Overstreet pleaded not guilty to the charges, in which he claims that the handed the baby over to Child Protective Services, but CPS has not record of an exchange.

Prosecutors have noted that the trial date is definitive due to how many federal officials involved in the legal proceedings.

The case has gained national attention with social media, where groups would regularly share updates on the case.
