Virginia man in jail after being charged with beating death in Princeton

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A Virginia man is in the Southern Regional Jail without bail after being charged with murder following a beating death from earlier this week in Princeton.

Timothy Bell (WVRJA)

Princeton police charged Timothy Bell, 45, of Grundy, Va., after finding the body of Mary Diane Price in a room at the Budget Inn Wednesday afternoon. Investigators said she had been badly beaten.

Bell told the police that he and Price, who he said was his wife, had gotten into a fight Tuesday night while both of them were using meth.

According to the criminal complaint, Bell told the motel’s front desk to call an ambulance for his wife.

Officers said they initially noticed Bell running from the hotel. It was apprehended a short time later.
