Falling Waters murder victim identified

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. –The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide

Sheriff Rob Blair said deputies were dispatched Monday morning to a mobile home at 45 Wisconsin Lane in Falling Waters for a welfare check.

There, they found a deceased male who appeared to have been murdered.  Sheriff Blair broke the news on this morning’s Panhandle Live:

“We received a call for a welfare check,” Blair said.  “When we entered the residence, we found a deceased male.  We are actively investigating.”

The man has been identified as Wilbur Patton Crampton, 54, of Falling Waters. His body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston.

“We are asking the public if they know anything about it, please contact our office, specifically Corporal Dodson with our Criminal Investigative Division,” Blair said.
