Mineral County man named “Michael Myers” accused of murdering his brother

MINERAL COUNTY, W.Va. — A Mineral County man is in jail and charged with murder after a weekend incident.

Michael Wayne Myers (WVRJA)

A criminal complaint shows that Michael Wayne Myers, 67, of Keyser, called Mineral County 911 and told dispatchers his brother had been shot, and he was dead.

Mineral County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a residence on Shaw Road in the Keyser area where they found the victim dead on the front porch with an apparent gunshot wound on his back.

According to the complaint, Myers told deputies that him and his brother lived in the house together. He said that his brother planned to kill him, and he felt “like a prisoner” in the home they shared.

Myers is being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.
