INWOOD, W.Va. — Three teenagers face charges after another juvenile was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint in Inwood Wednesday night.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Sheetz off Winchester Avenue/Rt. 11 in Inwood around 8:30 p.m. where a victim told them he had been robbed of his vehicle and wallet after giving two young men ride. While he was driving them, they grabbed him and threatened him at gunpoint, the victim said, adding he pulled into the Sheetz and fled the vehicle.
The suspects then drove off with his 2011 Audi A4.
Deputies tracked one suspect down to a home off Nadenbousch Lane then saw two teenagers, one matching the description of the other suspect, walking in the area of Rt. 11 and Nadenbousch Lane.
A deputy apprehended one suspect. The other fled on foot but was found in a field and arrested. One of them, a juvenile, had been seen with a backpack prior to that but did not have it at the time of the arrest. When that backpack was located, Burnett said it contained the firearm used during the commission of the crime and several individual bags of marijuana.
The stolen vehicle was located and handed over to the victim’s mother.
Zion Hamilton, 18, was booked in the Eastern Regional Jail. He faces one count each of armed robbery, grand larceny, conspiracy, and possession with the intent to distribute.
A 17-year-old faces the same charges and was transported to the Vicky Douglas Juvenile Center.
A 16-year-old was also transported to the Vicky Douglas Juvenile Center and has been charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of possession with the intent to distribute.
