One dead, another injured in overnight shooting in Huntington

UPDATE 12:07 p.m. — Huntington Police say one person died after a shooting early Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported at 12:08 a.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Avenue.

According to Huntington Police Chief Phil Watkins, two individuals were taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds. One victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital and the other is reportedly in stable condition.

The name of the victim has not been released.

An investigation has begun. The Huntington Police Department encourages anyone with more information about the shooting to call the tip line at 304-696-4444.
