HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University has announced that the winning bid for construction of the school’s new cybersecurity center has been awarded.
Neighborgall Construction Company won the bid and will head up the construction of the $45 million facility.
The 72,000-foot facility will be right across Hal Greer Boulevard from Old Main.
C.R. Neighborgall, president of Neighborgall Construction, released a statement Wednesday. He says his team is excited to work on a project like this.
“We are excited to collaborate with Marshall University to build this innovative institute for our community, which will serve as an anchor for cybersecurity. It’s an honor to bring this exceptional design from concept to construction, transforming a remarkable vision into a lasting reality,” Neighborgall said.
According to a release from Marshall University, the facility will feature 13 laboratories, which include six training labs solely dedicated to cybersecurity. The facility will also have an industrial control systems lab, an Internet of Things (IoT) lab, and an open-source intelligence

Marshall President Brad Smith says this facility will be more than just a building.
“This project represents the power of collaboration and shared purpose. It’s a shining example of what can be achieved when government, industry and higher education work together to serve the greater good. We’re grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and eager to begin construction with Neighborgall leading the way,” Smith said.
Construction on the facility is set to begin immediately.
