State workers off extra day for Christmas

Gov. Patrick Morrisey

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey says state workers will be getting some extra rest and time with their families next week.

Morrisey issued a proclamation Friday granting state employees full days off on Christmas Eve and December 26.

“I am so grateful to the tireless work of our state employees,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Their commitment to improving the lives of West Virginians inspires me every day. I hope they are all able to use this time to spend Christmas with their loved ones and enjoy a well-deserved break.”
