BUFFALO, W.Va. — Toyota West Virginia is looking back on a successful year of growth and community impact.
Toyota put out a release this week highlighting the best moments of 2025.
Perhaps the most important accomplishment of the year the announcement of a launch of the sixth-generation hybrid transaxle line, which makes the Buffalo plant a key part in the company’s electrified future.
Toyota also announced a $453 million investment in the Buffalo plant last month, which will result in 80 more jobs and increasing production of 4-cylinder, hybrid-compatible engines, sixth-generation hybrid transaxles and rear motor stators. Production on the new lines is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Toyota West Virginia in 2025 also honored veterans and took steps to help families working at the plant.
In June, a Gold Star Mothers Apple Orchard was planted at the biodiversity park as a space for reflection. In August, the plant announced plans to build a childcare center to serve employees. That is set to open in 2027.
“This year reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability and, most importantly, to our community,” said Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia President David Rosier. “That success is made possible by our team members and their never-ending commitment to getting better every day. Their dedication and resolve allow Toyota West Virginia to drive progress at the plant and across our region.
“As we look ahead to 2026, our thirtieth year in the Mountain State, these achievements set the stage for continued growth and lasting impact in the years to come,” he said.
The plant’s release also said that 2025 was capped off with the donation of a 2018 Camry to Good News Mountaineer Garage, the Charleston-based nonprofit that
repurposes donated vehicles to individuals in need.
