The WVU women’s basketball team collected their second NCAA Quad 1 win of the season, defeating No. 11 Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum, 83-70. The Mountaineers are now 4-0 in road games this season, and 3-0 in Big 12 road contests.
Kierra Wheeler scored a career-high 25 points and she pulled down a team-best seven rebounds. Jordan Harrison scored 19 points and added eight assists, seven steals and five rebounds. Harrison surpassed the 1,500-point mark in the victory. Carter McCray added nine points while Sydney Shaw and Celia Riviere each scored eight points.
Leading 40-39 at halftime, WVU (14-3, 4-1 Big 12) gained some distance on the scoreboard, outscoring the Cyclones 19-11 in the third quarter.
Audi Crooks led ISU (14-3, 2-3 Big 12) with 22 points and ten rebounds.
The Mountaineers return to Hope Coliseum to host No. 12 TCU Wednesday at 7 p.m.
