Arrest made in Pendleton County shooting

FRANKLIN, W.Va. — A suspect is in custody and charged with shooting a delivery driver in Pendleton County.

The shooting occurred January 9th after the driver made a delivery in Franklin, W.Va. and was headed back to Harrisonburg, Va. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the arm on Route 33 near the Virginia/West Virginia border. The investigation was delayed according to the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department because it took time to determine exactly where the incident had occurred and who had jurisdiction in the investigation.

A collaboration of West Virginia State Police, the Rockingham County, Virginia Sheriff’s Department, Harrisonburg Police Department, and members of the public, it was determined the shooting occurred on the West Virginia side of Shenandoah Mountain.

Pendleton County deputies say they obtained a warrant and have made an arrest in the case, but did not release any further information about the shooting including the identity of the suspect.
