Wolfe now able to take limited trips away from hospital

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The mother of wounded National Guardsman Sgt. Andrew Wolfe provided a public update of his condition.

Andrew Wolfe

Melody Wolfe posted to social media Friday news that Wolfe is now allowed to leave the Washington DC area rehabilitation hospital occasionally for outings with family.

“Happy Update! Andy is able to have weekend passes now and can leave the rehabilitation center with us. We were able to have a family dinner tonight out at a nice restaurant. On top of this good news, he continues to work hard in rehab. We know this journey will be months, but every day is one step closer to his independence.

He has wonderful care and are truly blessed with all the doctors, nurses, therapists, and everyone who is continuing to help our boy come home.” read Melody Wolfe’s post.

Wolfe was shot in November while on patrol in Washington D.C. along with Specialist Sarah Beckstrom who died of her wounds a day later.
