Kanawha County middle school student caught with handgun on bus

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — The Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office is working closely with the St. Albans Police Department after a gun was found on a school bus Wednesday.

A Hayes Middle School student was found with a handgun while riding one of the evening buses. According to a release from the St. Albans Police Department, a Kanawha County Schools employee took possession of the gun and turned it over to school employees.

The student was released to his guardian.
