Wood County man enters plea in 2024 double murder

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A Wood County man has pleaded guilty in connection with the 2024 double murder.

Bradley Cantwell

Bradley Joseph Cantwell, 41, of Walker, entered a Kennedy/Alford plea to Monday in Wood County Circuit Court two counts of second degree murder in the shooting deaths James Clifton Bailey, 41, and Felicia Jean Goff, 40,

Prosecutors said Cantwell killed Bailey and Goff before setting fire to the one-story house where their bodies were found in May 2024.

The Kennedy/Alford plea means Cantwell doesn’t admit guilt but agrees prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him.

Cantwell will be sentenced at a later date.
