CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Acting on a tip from federal authorities in West Virginia a sexual assault suspect was arrested in Missouri Wednesday.
U.S. Marshals said John D. Foster, 51, has been wanted for more than ten years by West Virginia State Police in connection with the sexual abuse of a minor in Randolph County.
Foster was arrested Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at his residence on Highlands Drive in Camdenton.
The arrest was made after U.S. Marshals Service in the Western District of Missouri received a tip from Northern District of West Virginia one week ago.
Foster is accused having sexual contact with a minor in July of 2010 at a residence in Montrose. Foster fled the state after incident and has remained due to limitations on extradition.
Foster has been charged with first degree sexual assault and will appear in Camden County prior to being returned to Randolph County.
Additionally, Foster was required to register as a sex offender based on a 1996 conviction of a rape in Kansas involving a 13 year old victim.
