One arrested in Fairmont shooting

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A 24-year-old Fairmont man has been charged with attempted murder after an early Friday morning altercation on Glen Avenue.

Police said Christian Pratt shot a person twice during a gathering of five people when an altercation erupted. Reports indicate Pratt was not involved in the fight, but fired twice hitting the victim in the arm and stomach.

Pratt has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, wanton endangerment in the first degree, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Pratt was legally intoxicated two hours after the incident when tested, according to police.

Pratt is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $750,000 bond.
