SLANESVILLE, W.Va. — A man is dead following a shooting in Hampshire County.
The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department along with West Virginia State Police were called to a home on Spring Gap Road Wednesday afternoon to a report of a shooting.
They arrived to find a man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. An extensive search followed their arrival in a nearby wooded area. A sheriff’s department release indicated one suspect was taken into custody and will be charged with murder.
The names of the victim and suspect have not yet been released.
A motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
