Taylor County postal worker accused of rebate check theft

GRAFTON, W.Va – A United States Postal Service worker has been arrested after being accused of taking rebate checks from from residents on his route in Taylor County.

Police in Grafton said Eric Leighow, 49, of Grafton, an employee at the Grafton USPS office used rebate that did not beling to him that were taken from the mail of others.

A resident reorted a missing rebate check back in April from Menards and police said they have video surveillance of Leighow making purchases using the rebate check.

The investigation determined Leighow took 17 additional rebate checks between June 2025 and May of 2026.

Leighow is charged with fraudulent schemes and is free after posting a $2,500 bond.
