Ilderton to remain with Herd as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations

Peyton Ilderton’s playing days are over at Marshall.

However, her involvement with the Thundering Herd women’s basketball program is not.

Having recently wrapped up a four-year playing career at MU, Ilderton will remain with the program after being named the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations for women’s basketball.

“I’m so excited for this opportunity and to continue to work for this school that I love with the most amazing people,” Ilderton said.

Ilderton replaces Brianna Ellis, who was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations.

A former standout and state champion at Logan High School, Ilderton is a four-year letter winner at Marshall who played under a trio of head coaches. Juli Fulks is the only head coach Ilderton played more than one season for at MU.

“Peyton has been an incredible representative of Marshall Women’s Basketball throughout her four years as a student-athlete,” Fulks said. “She understands our culture, our standards and what it means to wear the Marshall uniform. We are excited to see the impact she will continue to have on our program.”

Ilderton began her career as a walk-on at Marshall, earned a scholarship before completing her freshman campaign and assumed an increased role in each of her four seasons.

In 2025-26, she averaged 9.2 points over 31.8 minutes per game and totaled 73 steals, good for second best on the squad. Her 82 three-pointers mark the fourth most in a season in program history and Ilderton is top 10 all-time in triples at Marshall with 131.

Ilederton was one of 62 athletes nationwide to be named a Kay Yow Servant Award Leader for the 2025-26 season.
