America has challenges. So does West Virginia. The burdens of life, politics and the daily news cycle take a toll on all of us.
One of the best antidotes is inspiration.
You can find some of that Wednesday.
Talkline will originate from the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon. Fifteen remarkable young people — ambitious, caring and ready to make their mark on the world — will gather after having competed for the opportunity of an all-expenses-paid education at Wesleyan.
As much as the day is about those students — and it absolutely is — their charisma, determination and passion can’t help but spill over to anyone who takes the time to watch or listen.
Feel doubtful about the future of our state? It’s okay to admit it. There are times when it’s hard not to.
But tune in to Talkline on Wednesday, and you’ll walk away feeling better about West Virginia and its future.
Some already know exactly what they want to do, how they want to do it and where they want to do it. Future accountants, nurses and pediatricians. Others are still weighing those big life decisions, but are no less driven to seize every opportunity that comes their way.
That’s it for today. That’s the message — nothing more. Just an invitation to feed a little positivity to your soul, courtesy of some of the most impressive young people you’ll ever meet.
Join us Wednesday morning beginning at 10:06.
