Harrison County K-9 officer dies, several agencies participate in the final procession

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department has announced the death of canine officer Lotta.

Lotta was taken to a Fairmont clinic after suffering a medical emergency. At the end of the examination, the difficult decision was made to euthanize her.

The sheriff’s department and community are extending prayers and well wishes to Lotta’s handler, Sgt. Flanagan and his wife, Paige.

Members of many volunteer fire departments and first responder agencies participated in the final procession for Lotta Monday evening.
