Lost Creek man faces elevated DUI charges in 2025 Harrison County crash

MOUNT CLARE, W.Va. — A Lost Creek man faces elevated DUI charges after a fatal accident in Harrison County last October.

Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny II said the crash happened in the 6000 block of Mt. Clare Road a car driven by David Fultineer collided head on with another vehicle with four occupants.

Deputies arrives to find the four people in the other car with injuries ranging from serious to critical.

Fultineer and the four victims were transported to United Hospital Center where one of the four passengers died.

Deputies said Fultineer admitted to taking a Xanax approximately 8 to 9 hours prior to the crash and had used marijuana the night before the crash. Deputies noted that Fultineer was nodding off during questioning.

A toxicology report indicated Fultineer had Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, and Oxycodone in his system at the time of the crash and did not have a legal prescription for the medication.

Fultineer has been charged with DUI with death, DUI causing serious bodily injury and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
