For the second time in as many days, a West Virginia pitcher who began his career at the Division II level was chosen in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Right-hander Ian Korn was selected Sunday in the 10th round with pick No. 298 by the San Francisco Giants.
A transfer from Seton Hill, Korn excelled in his first and only season as a Mountaineer. Across 79.2 innings, Korn was 6-1 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts against 13 base-on-balls.

He consistently filled up the strike zone while filling various roles across 24 appearances, most of which were in long relief to go with three starts.
A native of York Pa., Korn played at Seton Hill from 2022-25 and was especially successful as a senior when he finished 11-2 with a 1.81 ERA over 84.1 innings.
On Saturday, fellow WVU right-hander Dawson Montesa, a transfer from Adelphi, went to the St. Louis Cardinals with the 72nd overall pick.
