LESAGE, W.Va. –– Cabell County deputies have charged a man with three counts of murder following a triple-stabbing.
Authorities have filed murder charges against Joshua Deel, 39, of Lesage, W.Va. Deputies were called to the Deel’s home in Lesage around 5 a.m. Tuesday. There, they discovered three people stabbed to death and Deel also suffering from injuries. He was taken to the hospital and is continuing to be treated for his injuries.
Dead are Deel’s wife, Shawn Deel, 39, along with her two teenage children Abigale Sloan, 18, and Dakota Sloan, 16.
Investigators spent most of the day Tuesday processing the scene and questioning witnesses in the case. By the end of the day, they produced the charges against Deel. He will be taken into custody and arraigned when he is released from the hospital.
Sheriff Doug Adams called the situation tragic, but offered no indication of what led to the fatal domestic conflict. The investigation continues
