BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — State Police have released the names of the two victims who died in Tuesday’s high water in Upshur County.
Judy Young, 59 and James Harper, 61, both of Upshur County were found dead inside a vehicle which was recovered in the Stonecoal Lake area of Upshur county.
Troopers say it appears their vehicle was swept from the roadway in rapidly rising flood waters. Their bodies were recovered late Thursday by State Police and members of the National Guard. At the time State Adjutant General Jim Seward indicated the vehicle was in the water and was extremely difficult to access.
The investigation into their death is ongoing.
