BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Two first Morgan County first responders are being recognized for a special delivery earlier this month.
Morgan County EMS shared the story Thursday congratulating Dustin Paul and Ally Haber on their response.
“Please join us in congratulating Paramedic Paul and EMT Haber on an unforgettable call,” the post began.
The pair responded to a call on Interstate 68 on July 1. A baby was being born.
“With professionalism, teamwork, and calm under pressure, they safely delivered a healthy newborn before arriving at the hospital,” the post said.
To commemorate the milestone, Morgan County EMS presented each with the Stork Pin — a special honor recognizing EMS providers who assist in bringing new life into the world.
Reacting to the announcement were family members of the newborn who expressed their appreciation for the first responders’ bravery and skill as well as a note from the little girl’s mother, who said, “Our family is forever grateful for you both. Thank you for helping bring my beautiful daughter safely into the world!”
Morgan County EMS said, “Calls like these remind us that EMS is there for life’s biggest moments, from emergencies to extraordinary beginnings.”
