FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Detroit man is charged in a Fairmont shooting death.
Fairmont police said in a Monday evening news release that Brandon Vaughn, 34, is in custody after the Sunday shooting of Billy Wooten III.
Wooten, of Fairmont, was found Sunday morning at around 8 o’clock on McKinney Street. Witnesses said the shooting left the scene in a silver car.
A short time later, police received word that a silver car had crashed on Interstate 79 in Harrison County. Vaughn was a passenger in the car.
He’s in the North Central Regional Jail charged with murder. Vaughn and the woman driving the car also face drug charges.
