CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A six-year-old Kanawha County criminal case is complete with Che Lark entering a guilty plea connected to the death of Heather Ross.
Lark offered a Kennedy plea before Circuit Judge Carrie Webster on Monday for attempting to flee causing death. He struck and killed Ross with his vehicle while trying to evade police in March 2020.
The case was repeatedly delayed over the last six years as Lark also faced federal drug charges related to the same incident. He was found behind the wheel of a parked vehicle in a driveway with apparent drugs in his possession.
When confronted by law enforcement, Lark attempted to drive away and struck Ross as he fled police. He was able to evade capture and was later taken into custody at a home in Chillicothe, Ohio.
He pleaded guilty to federal charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Webster sentenced him to 1-3 years in prison for the fleeing charge, which will be served concurrently with the federal sentence.
