Two face charges after downtown Morgantown attack

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Police in Morgantown arrested two woman over the weekend accused of entering a residence on Spruce Street and attacking several people.

Police arrived and found the front door standing open and entered the home. Officers said they witnessed Haley Russell, 24, punching a male in the face.

Police then intervened and stopped the fighting.

Witnesses told police Russell and Nalaysia Watkins, 25, entered the home and began yelling before violently assaulting several residents. The witnesses also confirmed to police that neither suspect lived at the Spruce Street address.

Russell and Watkins have been charged with burglary and conspiracy. Russell faces an additional three counts of malicious assault.

Both Russell and Watkins are being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond each.
