BECKLEY, W.Va. — Beckley Police have a man in custody who was caught at a high school football game with a firearm.
Authorities approached the individual, whose name was not released, Friday night at Van Meter Stadium where Woodrow Wilson was playing Huntington. Police, in a news release posted to social media, says they received a tip the man could be armed.
When questioned he resisted and a scuffle broke out. Authorities say a concealed handgun was found on the man. He was changed possession of a firearm on school property. Police also charged him additionally with violation of a domestic violence protective order and obstruction of an officer.
He was taken to jail.
