BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Police arrested a man Friday night for reportedly driving a car into a utility pole and a home.
Police said the driver, whose name has not been released, was brought into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The white Kia Sorento knocked over the pole and crashed into a residence on Marion Street Friday.
There were no serious injuries in the crash, police said. The department reminded drivers to “please drive sober and if something happens inside your vehicle please pull over to a safe place and handle your sitation off of the roadway.”
Crews from Upshur County EMS, the Buckhannon Fire Department, the Upshur County Communications Center, Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, and state police all assisted in the response following the incident.
