Procession set for this evening for Logan County deputy

LOGAN, W.Va. — Law enforcement from Logan County and several other agencies plan a procession Monday evening from the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston to a Logan County funeral home following the death of Logan County Deputy Caden Mullins.

Mullins was in his cruiser Saturday afternoon around 4:30 when the vehicle was struck by a coal truck. The crash happened on Route 10 at the Rum Creek Road intersection. Mullins died at the scene.

A passenger in the cruiser was flown to CAMC in Charleston. Their condition has not been released.

The procession is set to start at 5 p.m. in Charleston and travel to the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man.

A Facebook message from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said, “Multiple law enforcement agencies and first responders are expected to join us as we honor our brother and accompany him on his journey home.

“We ask that you keep his family, fellow officers, first responders, and everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

“As we come together to honor a life of service and sacrifice, we are reminded that the law enforcement family stands united, especially in our darkest hours.”

Mullins began his law enforcement career with the Charleston Police Department.
