Comments

  • Fairmont citizen

Joe Harold from fairmont senior should have been at least 2nd team instead of Juwan jones wright 6'2 235 a beast at defensive end !! Even check his higlight tape http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2982204/highlights/101689389

  • Bluefield parent

One other thing I have seen so many teams on the tide water area on Virginia play and there are a lot of kids on this list that could play on those teams from there so everybody in West Virginia, just know that the kids in West Virginia get the credit from me very proud of all of the, now with that being said I have seen Michael Vick and Allen Iverson both play and Ronald Curry and the QB from martinsburg could play on those teams so just because these kids are from West Virginia they are still top notch atheletes congrats again.

  • Bluefield parent

Congratulations on all the atheletes on the whole list. I have to say there was some surprises but congrats to all of them and to their coaches. I am from northern Virginia and moved here and I am a bluefield fan now because my son played there and I have to say I am impressed with the atheletes from West Virginia and they should get more attention. Just really like the football atmosphere on Friday nights very enthusiastic. In Virginia they let some college coaches and the state championship coaches pick all state players . Again congrats to all teams and coaches for your hard work and special thanks to the coaches from bluefield high school. We will be back next year and I know Cauchy Simon and crew will have them ready !

    • Bluefield parent

Meant Coach Simon my apologies .

  • Shroyer special mention. Bs

Scotty Shroyer was second in all classes in wv in receptions and gets beat out by 4 wide outs ? Go figure

  • Delaney snubbed? What

Jake delaney of east Fairmont only had 6 less passing yard and two less touchdown than Norman , but had almost 40 more completions and doesn't even get mentioned. Yet had two receivers that were mentioned. What a snub from the voters.

  • what a joke

This is what happens when they let sports writers do the picking...Most of these guys that pick might of seen their home team play and thats it. Alot of deserving kids get shafted because of this. What a shame. If they would at least let the coaches pick but arent allowed to pick kids on their own team then we might get a better picture of the top kids. Not just homer picks by biased small town wanna be's

  • Say What?

I am wondering if the female from Lincoln was awarded 1st team all state for PC purposes, or can she put a kickoff inside the 10 ?

    • Played them

Def not and all state kicker. Weak leg

      • Say What?

Then this entire first team slate is a joke. Gotta give 1st team honors to some non-deserving kids based solely on gender?!? Who is she related to, anyway?

  • Harpers Ferry

Brody Withers from Grafton leads the entire state (all classes) in tackles and only gets Honorable Mention? What a joke!

    • Say What?

      Maybe it's because Grafton sucked.

      • Wow.......

Shouldnt matter how bad your team is. Should only matter how good the individual is. Even says in the selection process that playoff success is added in. That should have nothing to do with it
