KINGWOOD, W.Va. — A Preston County man was convicted by a 12-member jury Thursday morning in the 2012 shooting death of his girlfriend.

Denny Ervin

The panel found Denny Ervin, 50, of Masontown, guilty of first-degree murder without mercy and wanton endangerment.

Ervin killed Leslie Layman on May 8, 2012, outside of home in Independence. Ervin claimed self-defense.

Did not know WV had natural life, meaning until you go out feet first. I think it only means 20 yr's for a natural life. Which is a lot of time but not if your the victim's family.
