FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont Senior defensive lineman Darius Stills Monday night committed to West Virginia’s 2017 recruiting class after receiving an offer from the Mountaineers earlier in the day.
Heading into this past weekend, Stills also had offers from Rutgers, UMass, Kent State, Appalachian State and Liberty – but no offer from West Virginia. After initially committing to Rutgers on Saturday, the offer came from WVU on Monday and Stills flipped to WVU.
Stills is listed at 6-foot-3, 280 pounds and rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals.com and a three-star recruit by ESPN.
He becomes the second in-state recruit to commit to West Virginia’s current recruiting class, joining Morgantown’s Maverick Wolfley. Stills is the seventh in-state recruit to commit to a Power Five program.
Stills is the son of former Mountaineer and NFL pro Gary Stills.
