State pharmacy board terminates Potters

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Board of Pharmacy has dismissed David Potters as its executive director and general counsel.

The board made the decision as it reviews the rule that requires drug distributors to report pharmacies that order a “suspicious” quantity of pain medication.

The board did not give a reason as to why the dismissal was made. Potters had been with the board for 10 years.

Mike Goff will serve as the acting executive director. Goff is an agency administrator and former West Virginia State Police trooper. He also helps maintain the state’s database for monitoring prescriptions
