Body found in West Fork River in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. —  Detectives are investigating the death of a woman who was found in the West Fork River in Clarksburg Tuesday morning.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was fully clothed when a passerby found her body just after 11 a.m. Tuesday near the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.

It is not clear how long her body was in the West Fork River before the discovery.

The woman’s identity has not yet been released.

Foul play is not suspected at this time.
