Man accused of weekend murder held on bond

MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. — A man accused of murdering a Summers County individual over the weekend will be held without bond.

Christopher Wyatt Bailey, 27, is accused of shooting William L. Simons, 41, of Pipestem. Authorities found Simons’ body on Sunday on Dawson School Road with signs he was shot multiple times the previous evening.

Bailey faces charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

An investigation is ongoing.
