CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia has topped 200 confirmed coronavirus cases.
Numbers released Thursday evening by the state Department of Health and Human Resources put the number at 217 confirmed cases out of 5,493 residents tested resulting in a 3.9 percent positive test rate.
The state has been around the 4 percent positive test mark for more than a week. There are now 30 counties reporting positive cases. Pendleton County was added to the list Thursday.
West Virginia has recorded two conronavirus deaths. A Marion County woman died at United Hospital Center last weekend and the Jackson County Health Department reported a death Wednesday.
