CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Department of Health and Human Resources says nearly 83 percent of the 739 residents who have tested positive for coronavirus in West Virginia are on home isolation.
Eighty-five residents (17.2 percent) are hospitalized with 34 of them being treated in ICU. There are 24 residents on a ventilator.
The DHHR did confirm the state’s 13th COVID-19 death in numbers released Thursday evening. Jenny Butler, 57, was a teacher at Hedgesville Elementary School.
The state’s overall positive test rate is 4.04 percent. More than 18,306 residents have been tested.
Cases have been confirmed in 49 of the state’s 55 counties.
