MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Construction workers on the site of the new bridge to cross the Monongahela River discovered a body Monday.
Deputies with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department responded to a wooded area between Scott Avenue and Smithtown Road where the body was found.
The body has been transported to the office of the state Medical Examiner autopsy and identification.
Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were assisted by Mon EMS, the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, the Morgantown Police Department, MECCA 911 and Triton Construction.
