Woman dead after being hit by truck

A woman is dead after being hit by a truck Sunday night in Charleston.

Charleston Police Dept. Lt. Shawn Williams says Latisha Green, 32, of Dunbar was walking in the middle of Sissonville Drive at about 9:15 when she was struck.

Williams says Green was at the Sunset Motel with her mother and left to walk home to Dunbar when the accident happened.

“We believe alcohol is a factor based upon a statement from the mother,” Lt. Williams said.

Green died at CAMC. Police say charges will not be filed against the driver.

“That’s a very dark area and driver really had no chance to avoid her,” Lt. Williams said.
