A house fire in in Pike County, KY claims the life of a father and four children Wednesday morning.
Fire officials in Pike County say the fire started at around 2:30 a.m. on Elswick Branch Road near Jonancy, KY which is also close to Williamson, WV.
A family member of the victims spoke with WSAZ and identified the father as 39 year old William “Billy” Wilfong of Jonancy, KY.
The family member identified the kids as Tyler, 5, Dakota, 4, Cheyanne, 2 and Emma, who is six months old.
The mother of the kids, Tammie Tucker, was injured in the fire and taken to a burn unit at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Her current condition is unknown at this time.
The family member reported that William had lived in the Charleston area for many years before recently moving to KY. William also has a 10 year old daughter who lives in St. Albans.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
