A Tampa, Fla., man could be back in West Virginia within the next couple of weeks to face charges for the 1974 murders of three people in Marion County.
On Friday, Eddie Jack Washington, 59, waived extradition in Hillsborough County.
He is scheduled for another hearing in front of a judge there on Tuesday so the terms of his extradition can be set before he is brought back to Fairmont.
Washington, an Alabama native who has lived and worked in Tampa for the past decade, was arrested Thursday and charged with shooting to death three people, execution style, in the Windmill Park area of Fairmont 38 years ago.
He would have been 21 years old at the time of the shootings.
The victims were Guy Phillips, 20, his wife, Wanda Jane Phillips, 19, and Bill Ray Cobb, 27. Their bodies were found on the morning of Aug. 2, 1974.
On Friday’s MetroNews Talkline, Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Pat Wilson said there could be another arrest in the case.
