FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — A woman jumped to her death from the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County Wednesday according to the National Parks Service.
Investigators said the 53-year-old parked her on car on the bridge, climbed a step stool she had placed close to the rail and jumped. Several other motorists tried to stop her.
Her body was recovered by emergency personnel about 40 minutes later.
