Surveillance photos result in arrest warrants

UPDATE: Gay Washington turned himself to deputies Tuesday afternoon.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies have identified the two men caught in surveillance photos following a Monday morning convenience store robbery in Cross Lanes.

Investigators have obtained arrest warrants for Tyler Williams, 22, and Gay Washington, 38, both of the Cross Lanes area. They began looking for them Tuesday.

Tyler Williams

It’s alleged Williams went entered the Goff Mountain Road Go-Mart through a backdoor and stole four bank bags from the store office. Washington remained outside, took off his clothes down to his underwear and tried to get into a locked outside bathroom.

Gay Washington

Williams is charged with breaking and entering and Washington with accessory before the fact to breaking and entering.

Deputies said they got numerous calls identifying the men after the surveillance photos were released to the media.
